FAQ#

1. What is your privacy policy?#

We do not sell your data, train models on it, trade on it, or otherwise attempt to profit from it in any way. The only way we make money is from customers subscribing to the service. Your strategies are private and belong to you.

2. Who owns the IP of a strategy I create using Grandiat?#

You own the IP of the strategy.

3. How does your use of AI impact privacy?#

It should not impact privacy. We use OpenAI as our AI provider. They promise to use your data only to monitor for abuse and promise to delete it after 30 days.

4. If you use AI, how do I know that the results are accurate?#

We ensure accuracy by limiting the role of AI. We separate strategy creation from strategy testing. AI is involved in strategy creation, but AI is not involved at all in strategy testing. Strategy testing is done using human-written code that is meticulously verified for accuracy.

This means that even if the AI makes a mistake, the results will still be accurate, and you can still use the strategy (although it might be a different one than what you intended to create).

5. What kind of data is available to use in Grandiat to build strategies?#

Currently, Grandiat includes standard price (OHLC) and fundamental data (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement). You can view the full list of available data fields in the app by clicking the “View Data Fields” button in the top right corner. But remember, the AI will help you build the strategy, so you don’t have to worry about the specifics of the data yourself.

6. What trading frequencies does Grandiat support?#

Grandiat supports monthly to yearly trading frequencies.

7. Do you use point-in-time data for strategy testing?#

Yes, we use point-in-time data for strategy testing. This means that if we are testing the strategy in, say December 2005, we only use data that was actually available in December 2005, rather than revised data that was later attributed to December 2005. This ensures that results accurately reflect what would have happened if you were running the strategy in the past.

8. If I implement my strategy, am I guaranteed to get the return shown?#

The short answer is no, but you have a much better shot with Grandiat than with other solutions.

The core issue is if your strategy worked in the past, but it was only by chance. This is a much bigger issue for other solutions which create strategies based on arbitrary technical indicators with little financial justification. With Grandiat, your strategy is based on your investment thesis. If your investment thesis is simple and has strong financial reasoning behind it, it is more likely to maintain its performance in the future (but it is still not guaranteed).

9. Instead of purchasing a subscription to Grandiat, why can’t I just ask a normal AI chatbot to help me test my idea?#

Even assuming you acquire the correct type of data (see FAQ #7), there are numerous subtleties involved in testing a strategy, and you have no way to know if the AI did it correctly unless you comb through every single line of code yourself. That is why we have developed a process that excludes AI from strategy testing (see FAQ #4).

10. What is your refund policy?#
